Terms & Conditions

  • Members of the Hale & Redlynch Transition Group who are involved with the administration of this project, referred to as “The Team” are listed on the “Contacts” page.
  • Details of the offer will be published on Saturday September 12th 2009 to people who have pre-registered their interest verbally or via e-mail to a member of The Team.
  • The offer will be publicised elsewhere in the villages on Monday 14th September 2009.
  • Orders to be confirmed on the website or in writing using the form available from Team members
  • A maximum of 40 orders will be supplied on a first-come-first-served basis.  Once the maximum is fully subscribed we will maintain a reserve list of names to contact in the event of cancellations.
  • The provision of the local food box on 3rd October is a non-profit making exercise.  All proceeds (if any) after the cost of the food and expenses will be donated to Hale and Redlynch Transition group.
  • We will accept payment either via electronic banking or by cheque payable to “New Forest Transition”.  Payment must be received, by a Team member, within 48 hours of an order being placed.
  • If payment is not received within 48 hours we reserve the right to sell the box to another household. 
  • All orders and payments to be made by midnight on Wednesday 23rd September.
  • We will provide, to each paying customer, a box of food containing the items listed on the website pages “Vegetarian Box Contents” or “Meat & Fish Box Contents”
  • Both Vegetarian and Meat/Fish Local Food Boxes will be available in sizes to suit 2, 4 or 6 average adult eaters. A separate price is be given for each of these 6 options.
  • The Local Food Boxes will provide all of the ingredients needed for the “Vegetarian” or “Meat & Fish” recipes on the website other than bread and milk and the store cupboard ingredients.
  • We reserve the right to alter the contents of the boxes at short notice if some items are unavailable. We will either make substitutions of a similar type of local food with the same or greater value or provide refunds to the value of the unavailable items.
  • The suppliers have been selected for their proximity to the Hale and Redlynch area and the majority of food and drink in the boxes will have been grown, raised or manufactured within 20 miles of our five villages.
  • Where non-UK grown foods are provided to complete a recipe, e.g. rice, pulses, nuts, these will be supplied by the wholesaler Wilton Wholefoods based at Downton.
  • Your cheques will be paid into the New Forest Transition Hub bank account and we will use this account to pay suppliers.
  • Boxes will be available for collection from Hale Village Hall between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 3rd October, although they can be collected from alternative addresses in Hale or Redlynch until Sunday at 12 noon by arrangement with a member of the team.
  • Orders may be cancelled any time up to Wednesday September 23rd 2009 at 2pm to obtain a full refund. Cancellations to be e-mailed to pdownard@lineone.net and are only valid when acknowledged. We cannot guarantee to refund cancelled order payments after this time but will do our best to resell the Local Food Box on your behalf.
